Foundation of Burdur Chamber of Commerce and Industry goes back to the early years of 19th century. It was named as “Burdur Sanjak Chamber of Commerce and Industry”, appertained to the city of Konya. Although our commerce had to suspend its activities during the National War, it has commenced its activities by 1923 with the dedicated efforts of Şükrü Bayer and his colleagues.

Our chamber, which was moved to the earthquake tents in order to repair the damage caused to its service building by the earthquake of May 12, 1971, has continued to work ceaselessly in these tents with the sacrificing efforts of the Nurettin BOYACIOĞLU, The President of Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Nevzat AKDEMİR, The President of The Assembly; members of the Assembly and the Board of Directors and the employees.

Since its foundation, Burdur Chamber of Commerce and Industry has not only settled for protecting the interests of its members, but also has taken itself the duty of making the investments that contribute to the economic development.

In this context, our chamber has brought many gains to the local and the national economies with the support of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey through attempts made at the offices of the Presidency, Prime Ministery and the Ministery of Commerce and Industry
